Exploring the Essentials of Cybersecurity: Key Learnings and Interests

Throughout this second course, I gained a solid understanding of the CISSP’s eight security domains and the importance of various security controls, frameworks, and compliance regulations. I found the in-depth exploration of SIEM tools particularly enlightening, as they play a crucial role in identifying security threats, risks, and vulnerabilities. I would like to learn more about incident response strategies and how playbooks are developed and implemented in real-world scenarios. One unexpected takeaway was the critical role of communication and collaboration among cybersecurity professionals, especially during incident response. The responsibility of continuously monitoring and analyzing security alerts appeals to me, as it offers a dynamic and proactive approach to protecting information systems, ensuring that I can make a meaningful impact in this field
